Mindfulness Liverpool and Breathworks CIC

Breathworks is one of the world’s leading mindfulness and compassion training organisations. The courses created by Breathworks are firmly underpinned by science and there is a huge evidence base available, attesting to their effectiveness.

The Mindfulness Liverpool team is trained in a number of leading approaches to Mindfulness. We choose to follow the Breathworks approach to teaching because we believe it to be the best there is. Our teachers are experienced, accredited Breathworks trainers, who work closely with and for the training organisation itself.

Our founder recently recorded some new meditations for the latest Breathworks course. Click here to listen.

Mindfulness can give you a different way of viewing the world. By practising, you'll discover fairly quickly that you don’t have to be ruled by all of the unhelpful thoughts and feelings your mind can throw up in reaction to stressful experiences. You can distance yourself from them, while deepening your relationship with yourself. You can change the lens that you use to look at the world.

Mindfulness won't remove all of the stressors from your life but it will change your relationship to them by altering your perspective. That can have a huge impact on your quality of life.

When we run public courses we'll list them on your courses and events page but you can commission us to run a course for your group or workplace anytime. You can also learn tailored content from these courses on a one-to-one basis, by booking a block of sessions with one of our trainers.

Do you suffer from persistent pain or illness? If so, this course could dramatically improve your quality of life.

We don't make that claim lightly. This is an award winning course, created by people with first-hand experience of using mindfulness to improve chronic pain. We've seen it transform people's experiences of illness on many occasions and its ability to do so is backed by rigorous science. It teaches practical techniques for managing pain, illness and fatigue in daily life, as well as ways to respond to your condition and experiences with self compassion.

Dave Spencer has been working with our students for a number of years. I have personally worked with Dave since 2016 and my understanding and appreciation of mindfulness has grown during this time. Dave is patient, passionate and dedicated to his work.

He has worked in partnership with LIPA to provide both one-to-one mindfulness sessions and group workshops for students with varying needs. Student feedback about working with Dave is consistently excellent. He is a valued member of the Student Support team and provides thoughtful and considered contributions to our work.

Plus Dane Housing

Mindfulness Liverpool ran a six-session course for myself and colleagues. The sessions have been invaluable. They helped me personally to create inner calm around all the chaos and stresses of work - I can all-too easily get lost in the pressures of work and the demands it places on senior executives so it was fantastic to re-align my thinking and cultivate peace of mind.
After each session I felt refreshed, ‘reset’, less anxious and more connected with my body and breathing. The weekly sessions brought a level of mindfulness that continued well beyond the session and into the week. The sessions definitely improved my ability to be more effective as a leader and shifted my thinking from reacting to responding. I would definitely recommend Mindfulness Liverpool.

Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine

Dave delivered a session – An Introduction to Mindfulness- within my workplace yesterday and both myself and my colleagues were blown away at just how calm and relaxed we could feel within an hour. The session was both informative and experiential and enabled us to understand Mindfulness practice and engage in many different aspects. Interest for the session was so great that we have asked Dave to return for a follow up session. Thank you so much for bringing peace and calmness to what is generally quite a high pressure environment’

Comments from the group ‘enlightening’, ‘breathtaking’, ‘a few moments just for me’, ‘wonderful’
